Susan Smith
Susan has more than 25 years’ experience in the pensions industry and has worked in the fields of benefits consulting, administration, trustee secretariat services and pensions management. Prior to joining Pi she worked in a variety of roles within Mercers. During this time she has undertaken various management roles including responsibility for people development, client service delivery and management of a network of consultants in pensions governance. She has worked with trustees of schemes ranging in asset size from £50 to over £2bn.
Specialist Subjects
As well as working with trustees, Susan also advises sponsoring employers and governance committees of contract based schemes. In particular she has been extensively involved in projects involving scheme mergers, implementation of defined contribution schemes, trustee board effectiveness reviews, implementation of first time outsourcing for pensions management and secretariat services.
Susan also delivers training for trustees and employee presentations.
Susan is active in the pensions industry, she is a Fellow of Pensions Management Institute and is now Vice President of the PMI, as well as being a regular contributor to the pensions press.
