Next breakfast seminar – Wednesday, 6 October 2010
“The times they are a changing" - a review of some key post-election pension issues
The challenging economic environment, a change of government and on-going concerns about the burden of state and public sector pensions have contributed to a feeling of disquiet for some trustees and scheme sponsors.
In particular, some key legislative changes have stalled. Is this necessarily a bad thing?
At our breakfast seminar we will:
- consider the government's key long term pension objectives
- comment on expectations regarding the proposed reduction in tax relief for pension savings
- provide some thoughts on the impact of linking pension increases and revaluation of deferred pensions to CPI in place of RPI
- provide an up-date on progress with the roll out of the National Employment Savings Trust (NEST) and auto-enrolment
The objective of our seminar will be to give you an up-date to help facilitate both your short and long term pension planning.
An agenda is attached for your information and just as a reminder:
- a maximum of 25 PMI CPD credits may be recorded for Pi seminars, based on your assessment of the seminar’s value to you
- Pi seminars are free of charge
- Pi seminars are held at The Chamber of Shipping, Carthusian Court, 12 Carthusian Street, London, EC1M 6EZ
