Selecting the right provider

Reasons why a current provider needs to be changed are numerous e.g. service standards that have diminished; failures to meet statutory and other deadlines; need to chase and remind to get things done; fee levels that have risen steeply; employer circumstances that have altered; changed business objectives of the current provider.

However, moving from one service provider to another is an important, complex and long term decision - which must not be taken lightly.

Pi Consulting is ideally placed to assist trustees and employers in this process, given its expert knowledge and understanding of the market, ability to match service provision with employer and trustees' objectives and freedom from conflicts of interest (which allows potential providers to work enthusiastically with Pi).

• assessment of objectives and current situation, leading to a report back on potential solutions (feasibility)
• provider pre-qualification
• management of full tender process (including compilation of detailed tender document, evaluation of responses, organisation of presentations)
• leadership and co-ordination of site visits
• provision of reference pro forma and/or independent obtaining of references
• project management of transfer to new service provider(s)
